Not Losing Weight

I used to not understand
why I'm not losing weight until I found out the real reasons.
People who are trying to lose weight can become extremely frustrated
when the results are disappointing. Many people shed a few pounds
only to quickly gain the weight back. There are various reasons
why people find themselves unable to lose weight. The most common
causes are improper eating habits, sleep deprivation, and lack
of exercise.
1. The most likely culprit for failed diets is poor eating habits.
Small or skipped breakfasts, hurried lunches, unhealthy
snacking and oversized dinners are the main contributors to weight
gain. Eating whatever happens to be available defeats the purpose
of dieting. Only by planning meals and snacks ahead of time will
a person be able to ensure a healthy balance of all food groups.
Weight loss is also prevented by not drinking enough water. The
body needs plenty of water to burn fat cells. The body, if concerned
about the low intake of water, will store additional fat cells
which contain water. Improper nutrition guarantees the inability
to lose weight.
2. Sleep deprivation will also prevent a person from losing weight.
In order to have the necessary energy to burn fat, the body requires
a full night's sleep on a regular basis. A tired body also results
in slower physical and mental reaction times which in turn reduces
the number of calories burned. A person's determination to live
healthier will be negatively affected by exhaustion as well. Frequently
staying up late or waking too early will make losing weight much
more difficult, if not impossible.
3. Too little exercise will also hamper weight loss.
Without exercise, the body is unable to burn calories properly
due to decreased metabolism. Muscles that are not used regularly
quickly become ineffective and unable to help burn fat. A lethargic
lifestyle diminishes the body's ability to sleep deeply and prevents
a healthy appetite. Losing weight will not happen without routine
exercise.
An honest examination of my eating, sleeping and exercise habits
revealed the reasons why I'm not losing weight. For most people,
some simple lifestyle changes can make weight loss a reality.
